Pre-kids Marc and I traveled a lot and spent time hiking and camping. We want to share our love of the outdoors with our kids but finding the right time to introduce them to camping proved difficult, particularly for me. Until both kids were finished breastfeeding I had no interest in sharing a tent with them. So, once Sadie was weened we planned this epic adventure with them. Neither of our children had spent a night in a tent but we booked half of our trip at camp sites, crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. Fortunately, the kids fell in love with it. They loved being outside for most of the day and eating outside. I think cooking amores over a camp fire sealed the deal.
Our trip started in Montana at Glacier National Park and we continued north to Banff National Park and then Jasper National Park in Canada. While Marc and I took in the beautiful scenery, the kids were content with throwing rocks into the rivers and lakes. Sadie and Ezra really wanted a sandy beach and playground and despite our best efforts we came up short with the exception of our last two days in Whitefish, Montana.
