In my job as a photographer I get to meet some amazing people but a few years ago I was lucky to meet Carlee, who is photographer and owner of CK Design & Photo. We became friends after I photographed a hospital session for her and her family.  She is incredibly talented but in a business where you do a lot of work by yourself it is so nice to have someone around whose opinion you value and can be a sounding board.

One of the benefits of having photographer friends is the potential to swamp sessions.   Both of us have pretty busy schedules between work, family and personal obligations.  However, since our session swap worked out so well last year, we decided to give it another try this year. I’m rarely in any photos so I love having this tradition between our two families.

Carlee decided she wanted to document her family doing one of their favorite activities.  So, after getting ready, we headed to the frozen yogurt shop.  After eating dessert before lunch, the family spent some time in the backyard playing around.  We were lucky and had beautiful January day where jackets weren’t needed.
