I first met this family for maternity photos back in January during that awful cold spell and we scrambled to find an indoor location. I was so excited when we finally met again to photograph baby Abigail. They moved into this beautiful home with lots of natural light. For the photographers out there my ISO was around 400 in the nursery, which NEVER, EVER happens. They have an adorable black lab puppy, who I think isn’t even a year old, that we managed to get into a few photos. Although all the dog wanted to do was lick everyone.
During newborn sessions, I always ask if there are any patterns, routines or unique things families would like to capture. When a baby is a week old sometimes these routines aren’t as established but this newborn was between 3-4 weeks when we photographed her. Mom said that dad spends a lot of time on the large bouncing ball (a gift they didn’t fully appreciate until now) and wearing baby Abigail. So, we definitely made sure to document those moments.
And, lastly, don’t you just LOVE the blue wall and staircase? I really love photographing a family in their home. There are always unique architectural elements and/or personality in how people decorate, and I love including those personal elements into sessions.
