Late Fall Belmont Family Photo Session

In November, we had a surge of beautiful warm weather. It made for a wonderful evening  for this energy filled fall family session in Belmont, MA.  This is our third time meeting and it is has been wonderful to see the girls grow up.  We started meeting when the oldest was four months old and then again when their youngest was 4 months old.

The parents always request something natural and candid so it is fun to let them just interact.  The oldest has a big personality, which makes for an energy filled family session. To get natural photos, I encourage parents to play with their kids.  Think of games you play, songs you sing or jokes you tell each other. If that seems too daunting, hold hands and go for a walk.  That creates natural touch and kids will try to swing in their parents arms, which always brings out a smile.  It is important to look at your children, too. Tossing a child into the air or playing tag creates energy and smiles.

Of course there is a time where we will take photographs of everyone looking at the camera and smiling, but for those natural moments, nothing beats a parent and child laughing at each other or embracing.  Quiet moments come naturally when everyone needs a few moments to wind down.  At the time, we can document hugs and snuggling when they naturally gravitate towards parents.
