I can’t believe it was almost a year ago that I met Carlee, from CK Design & Photo, and her family when she hired me to photograph a hospital newborn session after her youngest was born. Chatting over email, we discovered that we liked some of the same photographers and she attended a workshop I was interested in. Ezra and her oldest are about the same age and in the summer we were able to get together for a playdate.   It is really nice knowing someone in a similar situation who is running a photography business while balancing taking care of two kids.

In December we tried to get together and photograph each others families.  Both of us have lots of photographs with the kids and the kids with their dads but it is hard to document the entire family.  It may have been a blessing that it rained the afternoon we planned to do back-to-back mini sessions so instead we spent the evening bowling and having dinner together.  This winter, we gave it a second try but instead, since it has been so cold, opted to just travel to each other homes.  Carlee photographed my family at the beginning of the month but I’m sure you are shocked to here that her session was rescheduled because of a snow storm.

For their session, Carlee wanted to document something they do often on the weekends – make waffles.  It was adorable how everyone was in their pjs and the oldest was such a great helper.  The youngest, 10 months old, barely made any noise but was incredibly curious and took in the whole morning watching his brother and parents. Before wrapping up, we took some family photos reading together and then washing dishes, which is a favorite activity.
