Dear Ezra and Sadie,

I need to do a better job at keeping track of all your changes.  Every month I sit down to write this letter and my mind goes blank.  What I do remember is that it has been a good month.  We have spent a lot of time together as a family and have made a few trips up to New Hampshire to stay with your Savfta and Saba.

Ezra, the summer is coming to an end but we have been keeping busy with playground visits, swimming, and using chalk in the driveway. You are still obsessed with your magna tiles and I’m continuously amazed at your creations.    It is adorable to see you have conversations with your friends.  We met your preschool teacher and you are so excited  about school.  After meeting your teacher you said, “Let’s drop Sadie off at Jed’s (daycare) so I can go to preschool.”  This weekend we bought you a big boy bed.  I’m excited to see if you actually sleep in it when it arrives in two days.  Currently you alternate sleeping on the floor and in the toddler bed.  And, to show us how ready you were to be grown up you actually sat for a haircut.  Seriously, this is a huge milestone.

Sadie, you for once in your life, were grumpy.  Two of your first year molars came in and it was hard to get a smile out of you.  This was such a change for you and it actually took a day or two to figure out why you were so clingy.  Once the teeth broke through you were back to your old self. You’ve learned so many new words this month that it is hard to keep track of them.  This evening you wouldn’t go to bed because I forgot to read you a story.  You pointed to Ezra’s room and said “read.”  We went through the book and you pointed to everything saying “that,” “that.”

Until next month,

Mom
