I can’t believe we had a huge snowstorm in Boston yesterday and I’m looking a photo from this May.  This was one of my favorite session last spring.  A week or two prior I’d been at the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plains.  This area outside of Boston, MA is beautiful and the lilacs just happened to be in bloom.  When this Belmont, MA family asked for suggestions on locations I was thrilled to suggest this place.  Their daughter had just turned one and the arboretum was the perfect backdrop for their sunset family photo session.  We stopped at a couple of spots around the arboretum for some variety.  They brought their huge dog with them, who was a nice addition to the photos.  I love including all members of the family! I love photographing babies at this milestone.  They are so inquisitive and interested in everything going on around them.  It is hard not to get a smile. I had so many great photos of her crawling I wasn’t sure which photos to include – all of her expressions were fabulous.

I guess Belmont, MA is smaller than I thought.  My neighbor held a holiday book party (great idea buy the way) and this mom happened to be there.  It was so nice to see a client outside of “work” and to reconnect. May was my second busiest month last year so if you are interested in a spring session or one with lilacs don’t delay in scheduling your family photography session.
