Newton Newborn Photographer Session Share
It isn’t that often that I get to photograph families with three or more kids but I just love it. The energy is so different from when the baby is the first. When you bring another baby into the house you never know what is going to happen. You don’t know how the older children will respond and the initial feelings could change at anytime. When I arrived at this family’s home, the two older siblings were so in love with their baby brother. Mom told me that they picked out a special bear for their newborn brother, sang him songs like Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and generally just adored him.
One of my favorite photos of the session is of the oldest son holding his baby brother. Usually the siblings I work with are younger and not capable of holding the baby without assistance. In this case, the oldest was really gentle and kissed his newborn brother without prompting.
The other thing that really stood out was how dad held the baby. It was really similar to how we held Ezra, my son, and I haven’t run into anyone yet who held their baby in this way. How we comfort our babies is very personal. Each baby seems to prefer a different thing – standing up, sitting down, on the shoulder, etc.
A grandfather was visiting from out of town so we did our best to include him in some of the photos at the end of the session.
Here are some of my favorites at this Callum | Newton Newborn Photographer Home Lifestyle Session.
