Boston Newborn Photos

It was so nice to finally meet this family. The dad inquired a few months ago about a newborn photo session.  They live up in Lowell and I met them at their home for this mostly lifestyle photo session. Baby Hailey was a little over a week old when we met. Mom really wanted a few posed shots so we tried to get the session scheduled soon after the baby was born. I’ve been thinking about just focusing on lifestyle photography sessions with newborns. Even still, I love how her posed shots turned out.

When I go to a family’s home I usually look for the best natural light and interesting architectural aspects. At this family’s home, the best spots were in the upstairs nursery and parent’s bedrooms.  The first photo below is my favorite.  At the session, we incorporated a gorgeous blanket made by the baby’s grandmother.  I love using these special items in the session.  It makes the session unique to the family and the items such as blankets rarely detract from the baby.  Plus, this blanket matches the nursery perfectly, too.

Enjoy!
