It was so nice seeing this family again for their photos at their home just outside of Boston. This is the fourth time I’ve photographed them and I love seeing how much their daughter Avery has grown since we first met when she was 4 months old. As we were getting started mom joked with me about how I sometimes write we had to work hard for a particular shot… and wouldn’t you know Avery just wasn’t into having her photo taken on this particular day. With toddlers this is sometimes the case and you just work with what they give you. After giving it a go for some more formal portraits in the front yard we moved to the backyard where mom had some chalk and a sprinkler setup for a more informal or lifestyle session. We just let Avery be herself and her personality shined.  We ended up with some of my favorite photos of her.
