I was really excited to meet up with this family again at the Beaver Brook Reservation in Belmont MA for another photography session. We first met when this baby was born this past spring.  I photographed the baby at the hospital (see the blog post here) and then again for his newborn session at his home (see the blog post here). Now it was time for this baby’s 6 month photos. I love seeing babies grow and 6 months is one of my favorite ages to photograph as a photographer.

We scheduled the session for the first weekend in November and as the days went by I was getting nervous we wouldn’t have any foliage for the photo session but we lucked out with some brilliant colors at the park. This family wakes early and had no problem meeting me just after the sunrise (which in November isn’t too early around 7:45pm). I love early morning sessions for the light and also after the session I feel like I accomplished something for the day. In addition, hardly anyone is up and about, which means we had the park to ourselves. On this particular day it was cloudy but a beautiful fog was lingering in the park and gave the photos an atmospheric quality.

We started with some baby photos and used his favorite toy as a prop. After some family photos, we wandered the park to get a variety of locations and more photos of the family interacting. Babies at this age usually don’t last too long between naps but this little man did great and was all smiles the entire time.
