A few weeks ago before the New England Patriots game I went outside with my friend Sam to grab a few maternity photos for her.  I really wish that I took some maternity photographs of myself or hired a photographer since I don’t plan on getting pregnant again.  This past year I had a few clients who were pregnant with their third child and decided it was time to get a beautiful portrait of them during this time.  It was one of those single digit days during a polar vortex but she was such a good sport. We literally timed it so the sun would be peaking through the trees in her backyard and ran outside for less than five minutes. My hands were shaking because it was so cold so I am sure she was frozen. My husband joked that I only took one pose but I don’t think he would have stood outside for one minute in that weather.  Even so, just by alternating a few things – pose, camera angle, etc. we ended up with some unique photos.  My favorite photo is the fourth one down because of the light.  It literally was the last one I took and I wanted to try something out.   I really love taking photographs around the sunrise and sunset.  There is something gorgeous about that golden hour light that you can’t replicate in photoshop. Her newborn will be making her arrival sometime this spring.

Sam has always been a fabulous supporter of my photography journey and is always willing to let me try out a new technique.  She was the first person to let me try out a session and the photos from that session led to others.
