Location scouting for an early morning Brookline Maternity Session
When I was pregnant with my kids, I never really thought about maternity photos. Now, I wish I had taken a few decent photographs of myself since another baby is not a reality. Maternity photographers usually suggest taking photos around the 7 month mark. Around that time, women are obviously pregnant and still feeling well. As the due date gets closer, the body starts to feel uncomfortable and some, but not all, might feel too big, awkward, etc. With my first pregnancy, I felt great right up until the birth, but with my second my body ached towards the end and photos were not a priority.
It was lovely to meet up with this client again for maternity pictures. I have photographed them a few times over the last two years – first birthday party and family photos – and I’ll be taking newborn photos for them, too. Because of my schedule, the only available time I had was early on a Sunday morning before I left on vacation. Due to the time, we decided to meet up near their home in Brookline. Although I love Brookline, I haven’t spend that much time exploring the area for session spots. So, one morning I decided to go location scouting and visited every green space within a 5 minute drive from them.
My last stop was Griggs Park, which I fell in love with. The way the morning light filters in through the trees works really well, and almost as important was that the playground was hidden from view. If you know anything about children and playgrounds, you’ll completely understand what I’m taking about. There is no way you can drag a child from a playground for a photo session unless the session is about being at the playground.
